Jays/Phillies - Ben Revere talks heating up

This would be a fantastic move to solidify Left or Centre field and provide a legitimate leadoff man with a significant speed threat...... and I own him on my fantasy team, so, awesome.

LOL, just posted this in the “will jays get someone else” thread. Orioles are in on the talks too, but less interested with Parra coming from Milwaukee now. Revere would only cost like a AA guy apparently. So I’d be upset if the Jays didn’t get him for such a cheap price.

Also Arbitration Eligible 2016 and the earliest he can be a free agent is 2018. Fits right into the Jays compete window.

This is going to look gross. You can move the 2-4 hitters around however you want but this is what I'd want.

Revere
Donaldson
Tulo
Bautista
Edwin
Martin
Travis
Pillar
And then Smoak/Navarro/whoever you have DHing wherever you want them.

I think the more likely scenario is Tulo bats fifth with Bautista third and Edwin cleanup still though. But how could you ever feel comfortable pitching against this lineup?

Now:
Revere-Donaldson-Bautista-Tulo-Edwin-mashups

The difference between Revere and Reyes’s bat and base running is practically nothing. Plus you get Tulo in the lineup with better D, and a legit OF playing the left corner. No more over/under running balls in left. And he can play all 3 OF positions, maybe even letting Pillar have a rest once in a while. Getting Revere is going to be a great add, especially for the Jays. They didn’t have anyone to actually get on base especially with Travis out.

@penguinhunter. That might not be said for a while I bet. It’s not like NHL where we hear who goes instantly. The Hamels trade from yesterday just officially went through today. But earlier talk was his price was a AA level player.

AA just like Pat Gillick. Sat on his hands so long. Thus the designation "Stand Pat". Then came the Alomar/Carter deal and boom things went in motion. AA reminds of that.
