    He still has not signed a contract. Is he retiring? I don't see anything about him in the news.

    No he's not retiring. He will either land back in Detroit or he will sign elsewhere. It's just a matter of time.

    lots of teams need righty D with competent skills. if he wants to play he can.

    I just picked up Zidlicky from free agency. If he signs for $3M or less and can produce close to what he did last season, then he's worth a roster spot. I highly doubt anyone offers him more than $3M now, especially since that's been his cap hit in previous years as well.

    I only had to drop Carter Ashton to make room for him, so no big deal even if he retires or gets more money (I can't afford more than $3M). I would have dropped Ashton before the season starts regardless of this; now I just need to drop someone else instead but I have lots of time to think about that decision.
