Promising Tampa draftee Kevin Quick (see last year\'s prospect guide), who began last season with the University of Michigan, made a surprise switch to Norfolk in February on an amateur try-out. Obviously overmatched by people significantly older than him, the still lanky (6\'0\'\'/175) kid had an underwhelming half season, with 4 assists and a -7 +/- in 18 games, though Tampa did sign him to a 3-year entry level contract this summer.

This morning I happened to stumble on mention of the reason for his February move. Turns out he was dismissed by the university after admitting to a spending spree of thousands of dollars using the credit card of his roommate (and NYR prospect) Carl Hagelin. It seems legal proceedings haven\'t begun or are still ongoing, which may affect his performance and maybe even development in 08-09.

I own him in one league and was trying to use him as trade filler this week, before I found this out. Guess I\'m stuck with him now ... Ironically, in my other league I own Hagelin ...
