I was hoping I wouldn't be on my phone when my turn came up, but I will do my best. Sorry about the wait.

With the 51st overall pick in the 2013 Entry Draft the Leafs are proud to select Justin Bailey. We understand there is some risk here, as injuries have prevented Bailey from showing us the top of his game this year. That said, we are getting a kid with a big frame, with lots of room to fill out, who isn't scared of hard work or physical play. We're getting a guy with a great shot, who can get around the ice with good speed, even if he doesn't look pretty doing it. This is also a player from athletic bloodlines, who has been surrounded with and mentored by NHL players through much of his life. Definitely a bit of a project, but the potential is there for a great finished product a few years from now.

Washington has never shied away from the prospects with KHL ties and risks. They felt the value ppresented an opportunity worth taking in the 2nd.

With the 52nd pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft the Buffalo Sabers are proud to select from the USNTDP WIlliam Butcher (D).

12moths ago Butcher was consider a top 20pick by most but injury slowed his season. He still is the best skating dman in the draft with a huge offensive offside. Buffalo may have just got there future PPQB. Washington is on the clock

Will pick in about an hour... Was waiting for my turn cause I knew BBB was picking 2 picks before me and he was the last post... However there seems to be 2 picks at 52 so that means my pick (54) is up. I'm on my iPhone now so I'll post it from my PC ASAP

With the 54th pick, the Dallas Stars are proud to select, from the Swift Current Broncos, Dillon Heatherington!

"At the start of the 2011-12 season, he was bouncing in and out of the lineup as a rookie. Roughly two years later, the 6-foot-4, 196-pounder has made a name for himself as one of the top shutdown blueliners in the Western Hockey League"

"Scouts like his size. Stay-at-home defender. Decent offensive awareness, but at his best in the defending zone. Has become a competent puck carrier."

Here are some highlights from his games with Team Canada U18:

well it doesn't really matter now for the rest of the picks

We got 25 out of 30 first rounders, 3 perfectly correct ones (Droun, Monahan, Nurse)

Actually the drafting starts on page 4.

Fun to go back and see who thinks who was going where. I was happy to see I had Nurse going 7th overall (where he actually went) but I thought MacT was going to trade the pick. God knows he tried moving it for Schneider but it wasn't to be.

great pick for the sens, awful as soon as he gets drafted by the leafs.

given the talent available it was a bad pick but calling him awful is a joke. he could be a good 3rd line C one day, nothing wrong with that.

Hes a really average prospect is all mean. Has no offensive upside whatsoever. This is two years after being drafted. Has nothing to do with the leafs. He just has not progressed and doesn't look like I thought he would look.

theres a very good chance he will become a 3rd liner, and he's great at faceoffs. i agree he wont be putting up 50+ points but that's not what he was drafted for. he was taken as a late 1st, and really there arent that many stud prospects taken after him that you can call it an awful pick. there are definitely some taken later that will no doubt be better, but guys drafted near him in the 1st like mueller, shinkaruk, mccarron, klimchuk, dickinson, and hartman haven't exceeded any expectations either.
