Not gonna happen for a centre
That would be a good move for Buffalo. I'm not a big Hodgson guy.

It sure is buddy.. I knew it was a rumor as soon as I saw the thread.. No big deal..
I think Anderson is the guy traded only because nobody will give the Sens much for Lehner(concussion) right now.. Not sure many teams want Hodgson right now, but a draft pick would definitely help!!
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
It wouldn't surprise me if Hodgson was bought out...it's gotten that bad for him in Buffalo.

I'm surprised he wasn't eating wings in the press box from Christmas on...

While you could probably say that a team can never have enough good centres, I'd be very surprised to see Ottawa move a goalie for a centre. They have Turris, Zibanejad, Lazar, and Legwand. Even if Hodgson turns it around and lives up to the hype he would still be behind Lazar, Turris and Z.
10-team Keeper. Everyone keeps 12 + 1 G + 3 "young keepers" (players with less than 164 NHL games played), and 1G. Points for G (2), A (2), PIM (.2), Hit (.2), Blk (.2) SHP(1), W(4), SO(8) Must dress 4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G

G - Murray, Quick, Koskinen, Blackwood, Georgiev
Minors - Turcotte, Bouchard, Kaprizov
This would be a terrible deal for Ottawa, and hence not a believable rumour. Anderson is still a damn good goalie and capable of helping a team win. Even if the goalie market is saturated, the Sens could get a lot more than what is now a replacement level player in return.
Reminds me of the scary old days when Sutter was GM of the Flames and was capable of pulling off all sorts of horrific deals...
i agree with you in the fact that anderson is a good goalie and capable of helping a team win, but what could they get for a goalie like him and what team that is looking to win now is need of a goalie, i would say san jose and edmonton depending on what plans they have, edmonton would be a good fit but other then that i cant see too many teams giving up much for him

Hodgson is a mystery. There was no reason for his drop off this season....he'd been progressing well for a few years, and then had like what 10 points this season? I still think he can bounceback and be a good player in the NHL, but has anyone ever bottomed out as badly as he just did and come back from it? Selanne and Kariya had that season in Colorado and I guess that kinda comes close....but they still had 30 some-odd points, not 10.
This is probably pretty close to the return Ottawa will get for Anderson. Goalies don't get much, almost always picks and/or prospects. Rarely does a goalie move for a contributing roster player.

Sabres could do A LOT worse than Anderson, and the Sens have an extra netminder
I can see why this rumor is floating around
Not sure I see the logic in trading the established Anderson over the Swedish kid who has a ton of potential. I guess the return on a relatively unproven kid is also not sufficient considering what the team got in exchange for Bishop...
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
