Boy. I'd find that pretty shocking if Mathews would sign on for that. Clearly the second option in the backfield and I'd have to think that he'd be on a heavy performance bonus laden contract given the chunk of the salary cap pie now being eaten by Murray and Bradford. Is the market for him really that dry?

A short term contract this would be great for Matthews. He’s 27, and the longest deal would be 3 yrs for him right (that he’ll likely get), so when he’s done in such a great system (possibly won some playoff games), he gets to point at his inflated stats and say look, pay me more. Plus he gets to play with Sproles again.

But the primary thing is he gets to be on a winning team, he gets to run with “a star” (like what players do with Crosby), and who knows what Chip has promised him.

I guess the Eagles are converting to the Wishbone or the Wing-T. Or, more likely, Kelly just wants to cockblock Jerry Jones from all available RBs. I cant shake the feeling that Adrian Peterson ends up a Cowboy at some point in the near future, Jerry has coveted him for years.
