Definitely hurt himself. Could be shoulder, elbow or even a torn biceps (just a shot in the dark here). He held his arm in tight after misfiring/being held up on shooting the puck. Looked bad to me. Hope not though.
Left the Flames-Devils game early. Hurt on one of the final plays of the game. No word on severity. Could be nothing, could be something, but he stayed down for a while and went straight to the room.

Maybe it'll be long-term so I can improve my over-under bets to 11 hits and only 2 misses.
Normally I wouldn't wish injury on anyone, but considering my IR is like 7 players long now in my keeper league, I'm bitter. Ha.
Based on his injury history, you could say he was due for one about now.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
FWIW, This is how most reporters in the city feel. Most are speculating he is done for a month or longer, just based on how the Flames have handled the situation compared to other injuries.Eric Francis @EricFrancis 53s
Flames official confirms there will be no update today on Giordano. Ominous as playoff hopes hinge largely on his health. My guess: it's bad
Giordano out indefinitely with upper-body injury:

Hate to say it, but when a GM says - 2 days later - he still doesn't know re: best player's injury status, it's usually bad.

Well, he's not playing, but he did participate in pregame warmups tonight against the Isles.
Not sure what, if anything, can be read into that. But just an FYI.

"Mark Giordano (upper body) could return to the Calgary lineup as early as Tuesday."
That's encouraging.
yeah if it was serious I doubt he'd have come out for the warmups v.s the isles
Mark Giordano (upper body) could return to the Calgary lineup as early as Tuesday.
Giordano was not able to suit up Friday as he left the pre-game skate early with the upper body injury. The good news is the Flames do not play again until Tuesday so that will give Giordano a lot of time to recover before they take on the Flyers in Philadelphia. The Flames are halfway through an eight game road trip and need Giordano who has 11 goals and 48 points as he leads all NHL rearguards, back in the lineup.

The Flames have placed Giordano on IR. http://flames.nhl.com/club/roster.htm

That is weird. How do you go from taking the pre game skate, onto IR? More to come on this for sure. I'm sure it being so close to the trade deadline just makes things even more difficult.

The fact they made this waiver claim as well, seems to point to needing another body on the back end for a while?

It's even weirder because why would he have to skate to test what is so clearly an upper body injury? He could have just shot a puck off the wall in the hallway. What I want to know is could he put on his own equipment? Having dealt with a shoulder injury, just putting on your shoulder pads could be difficult!
This one will kill me...
