Sedin's 34 already and I think I could do better (younger) if I shopped around a little...but the guy included Mike Richards in the deal....
Maybe this is just an excuse to get rid of Richards....who knows what his future holds, but he's not that old yet.

I don't know, I'm stumped on the value of Sedin going forward my league...I could just shop around or try to work him down more.

Sedin's value is basically assists, PPP and FOW.

To me you are getting him fairly cheap. Richards has next to no value, Ho-Sang is a gamble (bang or bust, who knows) and the 1st is always tough to trade but you have to give to receive. If your team is making a push, this is a fair trade for you. Sedin will offer more to your team for the next couple years than anything you are sending out.

My bad. Then this became an even easier accept for me. With this league setup, I prefer Daniel to Henrik.

Do you protect all your players in a given season making the draft simply the new crop of NHL draftees? Realistically, where do you expect your team to finish in 2016?

If I thought Sedin would give me a very good shot at the win for next year I'd probably do it but if you're a middling team who could finish even lower in 2016 I would not.

p.s. -Your farm system looks INCREDIBLY deep for an 18 team league. It seems to me that 70% of all players held in your collective farm systems will never end up rostered on a squad.

Yes, we keep all of our players and all of our farm, so we are drafting any newly-eligible draftees, like you say. I expect to make the playoffs (top 8) in 2016. I was 3rd last year and am in the playoff picture this year after a slow start.

On the farm system, thank you! I've worked hard to try to get players that will actually play in the NHL or will have at least a legit shot going forward. In our league, prospects can play up to 135 NHL games and then must be called up permanently. Below 135, they can go up and down infinitely.

I ended up making the deal, with one addition. I think I did alright. Should help push me down the stretch and is a great add for playoffs. Might hurt in a few years, but that's a few years away
