Turris is not a bust. Just not sure he's a first line center and he's not surrounded by the best supporting cast either.

    1. Was someone in your league or in your office walking around talking about how great Kyle Turris is? Or are you still just bothered by someone doing that five years ago and it just sticks in your mind? To me the charade ended a couple of years ago and it has actually been reborn via this thread you started. (2012 called - they want their topic back)

    2. You were asked this earlier, I think by RaTaylor, and you skirted the question. Was he the best player to be taken third overall? And if not, who? The point given was - Subban and Benn were passed over by all the NHL teams, so you can't say them. Pick a player in the first round you would take ahead of Turris. Keep picking players and let's see if you knock him out of the Top 10. Taylor brought up a good point - if you say Couture, would you be saying that seven points is the difference between 'star' and 'bust' to you?

Given that, in hindsight, of the Top 30 players that all teams were looking at, it looks to me as though Turris should have indeed gone in the Top 10 and if not Top 5...maybe the entire draft was just weak and relatively speaking Phoenix did well to draft Turris when they did.
to be clear dobber...couture didnt have the hype....in the NHL a 3rd overall pick is significantly different than a 10th overall.....i dont think couture is a star....

so i ask you dobber....forget hindsight....did turris live up to his predraft hype? projections?...i say no......i dont care if was a weak draft......turris was pegged to be pretty much a cant miss star.....hes a bust....

another question dobber...will turris 'breakout' next season or is this it.....no obsessing, just humourous how many say hes not a bust when he clearly did not live up to the hype..

nice list...stars busts all rolled into one....

not so sure why the turdis bust implication is a shock....many players as you can tell by the list above dont either A) live up to their draft slot OR b) meet their predraft hype...

    many do.....

    forget hindsight because thats horseshite!

turdis wasnt the first bust and hes not the last.....

So, how many centers league wide finished with more than Turris' 58pts last season?
