How many points do you expect ekblad to put up in his first year? just how good could he be in the future?

I think 23 points is very reasonable.

I think it would be cool if he came out and rocked it with 45 points. Don't think it will happen though.

He'll be pressed to do 23, but if that's what he got, and he can, it would be a successful season. IMHO
But it is a good assumption.

I think he'll get 20-27 points this year. In the future he'll be very good - a steady diet of 44-54 IMO. His offensive production line will be a blend of Brent Seabrook (low end), Ryan Suter (middle ground) and Alex Pietrangelo (high end). I don't think he'll beast it quite like Shea Weber but he'll be fairly close. 12-15 goals a year.

    20-25 this year
30 point potential over 3 yrs
35-39 upside. He's an all around D, not necessarily an elite offensive D.

Those are some great comparisons in terms of both his play and production.

    Ekblad's first 5 years:
    20-25-30-40-50

Florida is going to be excellent into the future on offense.
Too many solid pieces will eventually come together.
But BIG defensemen... they always take a while getting the scoring going.
    Look at Hedman, Weber, Chara.

And Weber got their a little faster because he was already 20yrs old going into his first NHL season.
