final keepers - rep for help (;

Wish to have some wise advice on my final keepers from Dobber nation !

12 teams, 4 keepers this year (then it's goes 6), head to head

stats: G /A / +- / PIM / PPP / GWG / SOG / HITS / BLOCKS / W/L/SV/SV%/SHO

(4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G, 5BN)



Keeping Ovy - Kunitz - Rask - ?


Options: Zetterberg/McDonagh/Iginla/Nichuskin/Hartnell/Statsny/Oshie/Voracek


I tough I should go with "stability" and some kind of "remaining star potential" value and just go with Zetter for A / G / + - / PP and SOG maybe the "Mantha" factor ... but I got no clue if he can stay healthy and after the last surgery ..... it's a huge mystery, still a good old team. Then I said to myself: go for the kill, Iggy and Hartnell are multistats studs ... Iggy is switching team (again) with a last year doped season with Boston (mostly Julien) game style, now it will be the Avs and the opportunity to play with Mackinnon. He might have another great year. Hartnell ... well we will know now if it's was all about the "Giroux" effect but playing probably on the same line that Horton-Johansen .. dam he can have a great year but again im skeptical. Couple of middle guys like : Oshie - Voracek - Statsny (not really even thinking about the last one).

Nichuskin is a kinda intriguing but still .....


Im thinking about McDonagh ! On the rise, part of the Elite after the last series from my perspective, a restricted position. 50pts D , great SOG/HITS/BLK, good pp, + -


What you guys think ?

I like:

Voracek
Zetterberg
Nichushkin

in that order.

I think we see Voracek reach closer to his potential this year (70+ points).
Zetterberg is getting older and even if he plays 75 games I don't see him getting more than 70 points.
Nichushkin - well he is all the rave right now. But I don't see him hitting 70 points for another year or two.

I sure like Hartnell here, even though Zetterberg tugs strongly on me, because I think he will have a big year points wise. Pretty sure I would keep Hartnell and hope Z falls to you in the draft.

I like Mac truck, I see him only getting better and better next couple of years. Could be looking at 50 plus points with 200-250 hits/blocks, great for shots, and decent plus/minus. And I don't see Boyle taking much pp time from him

I'm with Shoeless here, in multicats with PIMS and Hits, I like Hartnell.....

Your four best choices are McDonagh, Oshie, Voracek, Nichushkin.

I'd go with one of the first three, I'm not as high on Nich's potential upside as most are around here.

In a keep 4, I am not keeping a D. I doubt many get kept except for the elite ones and I am not ready to put McDonagh in that catagory yet. I would probably say it would be down to Nichushkin, Hartnell or Voracek. I would probably keep Nichushkin mainly because he will be the hardest to redraft.

There is the thing. It's 4 keepers this year, then 6 and we will top 8 two years after.

On long term McDonagh and Nichushkin are gems (on 8 keepers format)

short term, Zetter or Hartnell stats wisely !

I like this player but im looking at his stats .... pretty average (periphery) . I know it's the budy of Giroux ....

Nichuskin is a real gem and Hartnell is the "killer" ...

After a few days of reflection I stand by my initial response.

I don't see Hartnell getting more than 55-60 points again in his career. Sure he may get you hits and PIMs along the way but Voracek/Zetterberg/Nichushkin all have 80 point potential if all their stars align.

Zetterberg is an injury risk.
Nichushkin is still a couple years away.
Voracek is primed to get you at least 65-70 points this year with an outside shot at 80.

Definitely not an easy choice though! Good luck.

I agree with the bolded, keep points, draft periphery. Of those three I'd rank them Voracek, Nuke, Z-berg. If you're patient however Nichushkin could turn into one of the league's elite for a long time.

Hartnell, Voracek, and Zetterberg for me. I have a hard time keeping Nich over those guys.
