    Default Comparables for Neal?

I've been a long time Neal owner and I'm not too happy about his move to Nashville. I'm not sure if I should think about moving him pre-season, or stick with him and hope for the best. My 8 keepers going into next year are:

    - Benn
    - Kane
    - Parise
    - Neal
    - Simmonds
    - OEL
    - Pietrangelo
    - Lundqvist

I know it looks like Simmonds is the weakest link, but PIMS are super valuable in our league so his value is actually quite high.

What are your thoughts on Neal's value in Nashville? I'm thinking he'll be a 30G 30A type player. Since he gets PIMS he is still valuable, but I'm wondering if I should look for a trade if it's out there to upgrade him?

It really depends on what you can get for him in a trade. I am doubtful that you will have anyone asking about his availability. I would probably hold on to him at this point. His perceived value right now is lower than his actual value.

Your assessment of 30-30 is pretty close, but you're going to get offers that don't even give him that value.

    Hold for now.

Keep him, his value has taken a hit due to the trade, I'd wait for him to go on a tear if you really want to make a move. 30-30-60 with good peripherals is a safe bet.

I had the same diemna a few weeks ago, then I pulled the trigger (league in sig , points only) :

My OV + Neal for His Seguin + Eberle
    12 teams keeper league (keep 6 + 1 rookie) H2H points only

Rookie = less than 23 years old and never reached 60pts for a forward / 40 pts for a D

    Start : C RW LW S D D G
    Points are : A/G = 1 pt W = 2 pts SO = 1pt

    C - Seguin Giroux Stepan
LW - Huberdeau (R) Parise Tlusty
RW - Eberle Hornqwist Hemsky Scheifele
D - Schultz Gardiner Goligoski Brodie Sekera Zidlicky
G - Fleury Crawford Raanta Greiss

Whoever said, 'It's not whether you win or lose that counts,' probably lost.

That's entirely reasonable to expect, I think he'll have pretty good value in your league.

Like that move. Seg's is quickly approaching Ovie value in points only and is younger. Give me Eberle over Neal now.

I think if Nashville could get a good playmaker this or next summer better than Ribiero or Jokinen (and it's not that hard to find), he could easely rise to a 70 pts player. He his for now a big sell low player !

You got to hold onto him, but only until he goes on a point tear then shop him or see if he can raise peoples expectations and keep him. But selling him now is selling him at pennies on the dollar

I think if he can stay on the ice he will score more than 30G in Nashville this year. I wont be surprised one bit to see more along the lines of 35G, 30+A. When Laviolette was coaching in Philly, he made sure all his offense went through Giroux. He wanted to make sure Giroux was involved and always touching the puck, either dishing or shooting it. I wont be one bit surprised to see Lavy come in and do a similar thing with Neal.

Yup! I think he's the type a guy you should be targeting right now not selling IMO not because he's going to be the 80 point monster he was in Pitt but because people are under vauleing him now

I own Neal in my league and I'm keeping him.....now is not a good time to part ways with him....his value is ridiculously low so that you can't have good return....I'm one of those who thinks he can still put a 70-75 pts on the table since he'll be the go-to-guy for Laviolette and here's a coach way more offense minded than Trotz.....Nashville isn't that bad as a team....I think a new system will surprise many people....Weber, Josi, Neal, Wilson, Smith, Jarnkrok, Forsberg, Jones....add to that some vets like Ribeiro, Roy, Fisher, Jokinen....they could surprise....

His value is only low to someone trying to acquire him from you, or at least they want you to think that. I think people are crazy to be dumping him without knowing what he can do under Laviolette.

Exactly, I got some ridiculous offers for him all summer since day1 he was traded to Nashville.....I surely keep him and his cap in my league is now a bargain (5M) with all those new contracts..... I should start to print and sell T-Shirts written "Keep calm and Neal on"....
