Pick Staal. First line. PP1. Top offensive player.
Which would you pick and how many points (G, A) do you see going forward?
I'd like to think both are similar and will be close, but Spezza might be in the better position with the cheaper cap contract...
However, I do own Seguin and Benn and the only knock on choosing Spezza in my upcoming draft would be putting too many eggs in one basket... but the rewards could be fantastic (just imagine the PPP!)
Also, choosing between Evander Kane or Parise is an frustrating choice...
Any thoughts?

The biggest fear I have about Spezza is his durability. In Eric Staal you are getting a much more durable guy who is more likely to play in more games. Staal is also all but guaranteed to be on Carolina's top line, while Spezza is the second line centre now. Spezza should ultimately have the edge in power play points, but again, only if he plays.

Funny part is... I'd be willing to bet at Dallas' 2nd line will be in direct competition with Carolina's Top line of Staal, Staal and Skinner (arguably).
I'll take Spezza as a bold ... Fearless forecast. I have no faith in the canes stars... For as long as they are there. I like E.Staal and Skinner alone... But I don't see any chemistry any more. Spezza could wake up and pull his back... But something tells me he finds a second win as others have landing in Dallas.
Another Staal vote. He'll flirt with 70 pts and brings better SOG, PIMS, and hits. I don't think Spezza's injury risk is worth the slightly higher upside he might bring.
I'd be inclined to go with Staal, too. Mostly because the injury risk is far less than the risk with Spezza. That being said, I think Spezza will do well in Dallas.
As for your EKane vs Parise inquiry - go with Parise.
Never realized Spezza was such an injury risk D:
Guess I'll have to avoid him like I do with Datsyuk unfortunately.

I would take Spezza. Despite his injury concerns, he still outscored Staal last season.

Although he could get PP1 time, Spezza will be on the second line at even strength. I wonder how that would affect production.
I'd roll the dice with Spezza for this year. I think he'll be re-energized playing out of Ottawa and put up solid numbers. His teammates are what swayed my vote. Staal is your safer choice though.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
Spezza was really a second liner for Ottawa last season and still put up 66... this with his worst ice time pretty much ever and playing grumpy... no linemates until fellow BAB board member Ales joined the squad. Plus he admitted after the trade that he finally started to feel fully recovered from the back surgery towards the end of the season. AND he's playing for a contract again this year... I think he will be a ppg player and play 75 gms. Lastly, he is very solid on the draw, so if yer league counts FOWs, he's gonna be a stud since Seguin not much of a faceoff winner. Spezza will take all PP faceoffs.
Regarding E. Kane vs. Parise... I don't think their point totals will be that far off this season (68 vs. 58)... so Kane for me here since cats include Hits, PIM, and SOG.

I'd go Staal to spread out your risk with already owning benn seguin.....as for Kane vs. Parise ?
Parise all the way! I own Kane and would love to make that deal.
