"Major League Baseball owners are voting to name a new Commissioner today at their quarterly meetings in Baltimore.
The three finalists under consideration are MLB chief operating officer Rob Manfred, Red Sox chairman Tom Werner, and MLB executive vice president of business Tim Brosnan. A candidate needs to receive at least 23 out of 30 votes to be named the 10th Commissioner in MLB history, and if a consensus is not reached, a decision on the next Commissioner could be tabled until the next time the owners meet in November. Commissioner Bud Selig plans to move on from the role on Jan. 25.
Voting is expected to begin around 1:30 ET, with Selig scheduled to hold a news conference afterward, and it will be carried live on MLB Network and MLB.com."
