I'd keep Weber too. And like the above post says, when the first big D run happens you'll be good to snag some very quality forwards.

I think you guys have me convinced - Weber it is.

What round would you guys target Mackinnon in then?

It's just a way to keep things interesting and reward good drafting. And every year everyone gets a shot at the top players.

All depends on the pick you have and what happens.
If you want to draft him a little earlier than usual just keep note of how your team plays out.
If you had the first pick for example you may select Crosby and then hope to grab another top F and a G with your next two picks.

Mackinnon is great but don't let the allure of him allow you to pass by other huge fantasy players!

Yes yes. Which is why it's so important to provide the details of your league. Mack became Weber very quickly based on the scoring cats.

Sophomore slumps usually targets older players. I'm taking MacKinnon.

True, I'm just trying to take advantage of the uninformed people in my league.

Won't know what my pick is until draft day so I guess I'll just have to wing it.

Not even close in m y mind - has to be Weber. He is close to a first rounder with the cats you present. Mac is not, even if he increases his production by 10%. I wouldn't 'target' Mac in any particular round - drafts are dynamic, you need to focus on taking the best player available when it's your pick.

It's still MacKinnon for me. Yeah, great, Weber is a good multicat factor. His stats are replaceable in the draft. MacKinnons potential offensive output will be highly sought after. And I think MacKinnon would probably be drafted before Weber so you always want to keep the guy with higher market value.

I don't think Weber will be a first rounder or early second rounder in most one year leagues. The only dmen who would go that early are Karlsson and Subban realistically. Weber would be next, but he'd be a late 2nd to early 4th round pick.

    Weber.
With Hits/Blocks, there's maybe 5 defensemen that will give you across the board stats.
    Weber is one.
Being a one-year league, Weber is my guy here.

And... if Mackinnon is playing C2... I could actually see his stats not blossoming as quickly this year as people might think (added defensive responsibilities of shifting from wing-to-center).

God I hate taking ANYONE over MacKinnon, but I gotta go Weber here.

His peripheral stats are just too strong - It's close, but I gotta go Weber.
