Need some help- 2nd year keeper league

14 team H2H standard Scoring league. Start 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1flex.

My current keepers are

QB Cam Newton
TE Jimmy Graham
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Alshon Jeffery


**I know, I know... I am not keeping any RB's.... My potential RB keepers are Frank Gore and Moreno....so I have decided not to keep them.


I guess what I am asking is what strategy should I go in with next yr? Should I keep these 4 and go hard at RB's at the draft? Should I try and move a jhonson for a top 5 RB if I can? And IF I can move him for a RB...who should I go for? Keep in mind that no one wants to move a top 5 RB ...

I still have all of my picks except my 3rd rounder. And I pick 4th last as I finished near the top of the league.


Please any help/advice will be appreciated

i wouldn't move CJ to be honest with you

go with those guys and go hard at RBs in the draft

if you can move Jeffery for a top 10 RB maybe look to do that but i wouldn't be looking to move off of having the #1 WR and #1 TE

depending on the QBs you think might be available in the draft i might consider combining Newton and Jeffery to grab a top 5 RB if you can do that

I was thinking the same thing... I only considered moving Megatron because he is the only guy I could move that might be able to land a top 5 RB. I can try moving cam and alshon, but I doubt anyone will move a RB for those two.. Cams value took a pretty big hit (with no receivers) and Alshon is still a little undervalued.

yeah i get it, but Megatron is so far ahead of the pack that you just cannot consider moving him imo and he is no where near the downside of his career yet

if you can't move those guys for a RB just go with that group of 4 and come out hard at RBs to start your draft, which everyone likely will do as well, and hope you get lucky

Stick with those 4 guys. Of the top 10 rb's ranked at the beginning of the season, only 5 of them will end up there by seasons end. It's too unpredictable a position to risk losing what you currently have. Go hard for rb's and hope you hit on the ones that will land in the top 12.

I am trying to move him for McCoy, but the McCoy owner is 50/50

Personally, I wouldn't do either. Calvin is a generational talent, playing on a team that has passed the ball more than any other the past 3 years. I would only trade Calvin for Graham and you already have him. Enjoy having the two most valuable fantasy players.

I'm with the others who have advised to keep what you have and go from there. With that core and that size league, you don't need top-tier RB talent to win. Keep pounding away at RBs in the draft and be vigilant on the wire, and you ought to have yourself a team that makes for a mighty tough out.

And in any event, even if, for whatever reason, your team situation isn't panning out once the season is underway, the guys you're talking about moving always will draw interest if you decide to shop a little. No need to do anything hasty to move a fantasy superstar before you even see who you land at the draft and how they perform.

I'm not the most experienced at fantasy football, but unless you have a top 5 QB it seems like you shouldn't be keeping a QB. So trade Newton for a RB if you want one so badly. There are QBs out there that can get you good points each week, and half the time you can stream a QB. I'm not sure how your league is sold on Newton, but maybe someone loves him and you can get a decent return.

But if you can't trade Newton for an RB, don't move. If you're smart you can pick up this yrs Rashad Jennings, or Zak Stacy, or Moreno.

Thnx for the reply matt. The only other worthy keepers i have are gore and moreno.... I would think \cam is a better option.
