Perhaps neither are really prospects anymore, but both are young so I posted here. In a points league, which would you rather own for next year, and for the next 3?

I would likely go with Kuz as well, I like both these guys pretty equally but I think Kuznetsov will be given a longer leash and more freedom offensively, Granlund will likely have to keep up his end more on the defensive side.

I'd take Kuznetsov but I really like what Granlund brings to the table.. I feel like a lot of people will value the shiny new toy (Kuznetsov) over the "older" toy in Granlund.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have a soft spot for Granny because I drafted him as a rook but couldn't keep him. His owner covets Kuz, so a deal may be possible.

Anyone care to actually throw a rough projection out there for Kuznetsov? Are we looking at a 60+ pt guy within a season or two with good shot totals?

I'm thinking you nailed it. These totals may hinge in his situation and who he's coupled with. If he's playing with one or both of backstrom and Ovie...I think we may be looking at a finalist for the 2014/15 Calder. Having said that...I he's treated like Yak and toils I the 2nd line with neither of those Two, I could see 40-45 point kick off to his career for the first couple years (not bad)but the shot totals I think will be consistent. He'll be sharing he Shorts if in the 1st line with Ovie and being set up by backstrom. The points should be there and whatever point hit he takes not in that first line would likely conversely see shot increases and perhaps higher goal totals but fewer points overall.

Trotz has never had the fire power of Ovie, Backstrom, Kuz, Green or Carlson... I don't think he's turn Wash into Nash. But It would be funny to see.

yup, look what Shea Weber does every year or even Hornqvist and guys like that. if Nashville had star forwards they would have been pretty damn respected offensively.

I'd go Granlund personally. More proven and I think he has yet to explode offensively. Kuz has higher upside but much more bust potential as well.
