A note on Detroit's draft philosophy is that they usually put players in different tiers. So if they have a pick at 20 and they trade down to 25 thinking that they will still have a shot at a guy in that tier, they will do that if it gets them another pick in the second or third round.

Looks like DET is gonna start going away from the mantra of incubating their prospects for 5 years before getting a shot. Mrazek and Mantha could be the players to break that trend.

Well the trend was broken because they had too many injuries and older players. But now they will not be signing these types then it is fully broken.

Mantha will probably see a couple of games but it will take time for him to adapt.
