Default Ward vs Lehner for next year

I currently have the option to pick up Lehner and drop Ward. what do you guys think? My team isn't all that good and probably won't really be in contention next year as well. Good Idea? My other Goalies are Hiller and Fasth

If you are in any sort of rebuild, I'd snap Lehner up in a second. Wardo is going to be in tough the way Khudobin has come on the scene, and Lehner is going to be the man in Ottawa pretty soon. I think Lehner is probably the "safer" play at this point, as weird as that sounds.

Ward is a mess. He lets you down annually with his injuries and is IMO quickly losing legit starting status with Khubodin doing great. Grab Lehner.

I forgot to mention that I'm a Ward owner in my primary league.

Well you have to think if there was anyway the Canes could move Ward they would. But, what is the likelihood of that? Still, he has gone from a top 10 Goalie to middle of the pack or worse and continues to trend toward oblivion. Right now he is bottom end tier 2 and arguably tier 3. Even if he stays with Carolina I wouldn't expect a reverse in his fortune. A trade might change that, but I wouldn't bet the farm on a turn around as a result of a trade. Lehner on the other hand is all about potential and he certainly has lots of that despite an inferior campaign this year. I think this is worth a shot for sure, build for the future and grab Lehner.
