They way I see it, getting him of IR is the best trade you can make. You've been winning without him so just think how much better you'll for the playoffs.

    10 team H2H !Y League (4 keepers - at least 1 must be a D-man OR Goalie)
    Start - 2C, 2L, 2R, 1U, 3D, 2G, 6Bench, 2IR, 2IR+ (Daily) (5 moves per week)
    Skaters - G, A, +/-, PPP,
    PIM, HITS, BS, GWG, SOG
Goalies - Wins, Saves, S%, GAA (Min. 4 starts)
    Championships 2007, 2009, 2012, 2016, 2017,
    2019*, 2023

    C-McDavid, Trocheck, Suzuki

I'm kind of in same boat, but the other way. I'm trying to decide if I want to try and trade for Stamkos. I would offer Giroux and Hall for Stamkos.

Yeah, no argument there. It's a matter of trying to win this year though, while simultaneously attempting to strengthen my team for the future. This trade has the potential to do both, but it all depends on how Mack pans out...

I like it for the future. Stammer without St. Louis will still be PPG but not as huge as most would think. Hall and Mack could be just as productive at one point in their career IMO (I think Mack will be Stamkos caliber maybe better). If you're looking to the future I'd do it, but without the picks. No need to give up a first.

My normal response is "no never trade Stamkos!!!". But looking at your league where you keep 8 players. Mackinnon is going to be a massive upgrade over whomever is your 8th guy. WHere I question the deal is around Hall. You need him to be close to Stamkos (I currently have Hall as the 6th best forward, Stamkos would be top 3).

There is an argument for making this deal. But my guy reaction is to take the safe route and stick with Stamkos for now.
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

Thanks for the input. It's actually keep-14, so Mackinnon would replace Perron/Carlson/Fowler. One of them.

Am I the only one who sees this deal as very favorable for you??!!

It's a keep 14; you've bolded 13 players. The 14th one is not that easy to pick.

If you can get Kane AND MacKinnon for Stamkos and Horton, I think you easily win this deal.

You would be getting a player that is a maximum of 20 points and 10-15 goals away from Stamkos' ceiling in Kane (but that can go toe to toe with him on a yearly basis nonetheless) and you get MacKinnon who is nothing short of an elite player in the making as well.

You better your keepers, you are getting a comparable return from the get-go and you are banking on MacKinnon's future development (who may be as good as Stamkos as well).

I would pull the trigger on this one!
Keeper league 14 teams (H2H, 20 active players keep 16 NHLers, 16 minors)
    Scoring Cats: G-A-PTS-PPG-PPA-(+/-)-HITS-BLK-SHP-SOG-FOW-GWG / W-L-SVS-SV%-GAA-SO

C- Crosby, Barzal, Bennett, Schmaltz, Cooley, Novak
W- Forsberg, Batherson, Nichuskin, Tuch, Konecny, Maccelli, Sharangovich, Bertuzzi, Neighbours, Reichel, Holloway
    D- Carlson, Rielly, Klingberg
    G- Hellebuyck, Demko, Merzlikins, Vejmelka

    Minors:
F: Fantilli, Bourgault, Perreault, Cowan, Ohgren, N. Foote, Goyette, Iskhakov, Denisenko, Tracey
    D: Simashev, Willander, Lambos
G: Schmidt, Rodrigue, DiPietro, Gaudreau, McKay
