Re: Marty St. Louis believed to have asked for a trade
Yzerman is not going to just give this guy away and trade him just because he has hurt feelings.....he should be a professional and keep playing. If I get passed up for a promotion or get criticized in a performance review, I don't immediately give my 2 weeks notice and start looking to work for someone else.
The Bolts are a playoff contender, Stevie isn't going to trade away his Captain and second-best player over hurt feelings. He also does not strike me as one to cave to player demands, which I love because I hate it when players demand trades and cause distractions for their team and then their GM's cater to them and end up hurting the squad. He signed a contract, honor it and be the bigger man instead of being a distraction. If Tampa was terrible then I could somewhat understand it, but this is one of the top 4 teams in the East, give me a break! The playoffs are in a month and a bit, just play and address it in the offseason if you really can't just suck it up and get over it.
This "captain" is letting his entire team down by pulling this nonsense. What about every one of those Tampa players that has worked their asses off sans Stamkos to get into the playoffs only to have their captain bail on them over a hissy fit? That shit's weak.
Personally, I'm losing a lot of respect for St. Louis if everything that is being reported is indeed accurate.
