Bouwmee\'s status
Hey,
he has received a qualifying offer, but I\'m not completely sure to know what that means. Correct me if I\'m wrong, but because of this, he can\'t be UFA so if no other teams match this offer, he\'ll have no choice but to stay in Florida, right?
I really hope he leaves Florida (from a fantasy point of view). Any information on what to expect?

Bouwmee\'s status
The qualification offer merely prevents a RFA player from becoming a UFA player. Bouwmeester can still receive offer sheets from other teams (and if Florida was in any cap-room danger this might be a legit risk) but I suspect that, barring a trade, he will still be a Panther come October.

yeah, unfortunately, i don\'t think jbo has too much control of the situation. the best thing i think he can do for himself would be to sign a 1 year deal, making him a FA next year (i think he can do this???)
as highlander said, if he signs any offer sheet, florida will match whatever he gets because they have the room to do it, so signing a sheet might not be the best for him (and me!!!) if he, in fact, wants out of florida.
