    Default Backes for Hall

    12 team H2H.
G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, HITs, BLK
    W, SV%, GAA, SHO

    My team:
C: Stamkos, Backes (RW), Plekanec, Johansson
RW: Iginla, Brown (LW), C. Stewart
LW: E. Kane, Filppula, Tlusty, Killorn
D: Subban, Keith, Pietrangelo, Streit, Girardi
    G: Crawford, Holtby, S. Mason

Should I trade my Backes for his Hall? I could really use scoring, as I have the grit stats pretty much locked. Just concerned about the nature of his injury.

Yes - NO brainer for me.
Hall will end up with a PPG, lots of shots and PPP.

You got other categories covered with Brown, Stewart, Iggy, Kane, Subban, ...

Completely agreed. Everyone wins here, Backes is a multi-cat beaut but like it was said, you already have it good with a lot of preherps covered so you get some extra scoring and he gets a good multi-cat cat!

Hall is out for four weeks...is there a viable replacement out there for the empty roster spot in the meantime?

I don't know why but this kind of deal makes me feel kinda queasy. Hall definitely has higher scoring upside no doubt but he's out at least four weeks and it's a knee injury and those are never good. Backes is nothing to scoff at either, he demolishes these categories.

Since this is a one-year I dunno if I'd do this.

My gut tells me to keep Backes here, since it's a one year league...he's gold in this type of format and Taylor Hall is made of glass.

Thanks for the responses guys. He ended up getting cold feet... I'm happy to keep Backes though.

Yeah, in a one-year, considering Hall just got hurt... I like Backes here. AND with Hitch giving that top line big minutes, we might see some inflated numbers by the end of the year.

You should do those kinds of trades immediately...instead of posting on forums for advice. Don't give the guy a chance to get cold feet.

Give me Backes and the Blues over any of those Oilers. Shit hockey up there right now.

How so? For SOGs he's got guys like Kane, Keith and Subban who will put up good numbers, he's got Kane again, Brown and Girardi who will be good for some HITS, BLKs will be Girardi as always as well as Keith and Pietrangelo, and PIMS should be helped along by guys like Kane, Brown, Stewart and Subban.

Sure its just a few guys on his team doing most of the work in these cats, but then you get guys like Stammer, Iginla, Subban and more producing G, A and potentially PPP, then it doesn't seem like such a bad idea to give away a guy in Backes, whom he has many other players filling in those varied categories, for a guy who can and likely will be PPG.

    Just my two cents.

I think he was just referring to how your post said "preherps" lol.
