    Default Traded for Brees

    10-team league, non-ppr, 4 point bonuses for 100+ yards rushing/receiving.

After a trade for Brees last night, I ended up with two more trades the next few hours.

    1. How did I do (I know....who cares...but I like evaluating)?
    2. Stay put for a while or keep trading?
    3. If I should keep trading, what weakness should I work on?

    -First I traded Garcon+Broyles for Brees+Powell.
-I then flipped Romo for FJax to handcuff my Spiller.
-Finally I traded Miller+Thompkins for Wayne and picked up Franklin to handcuff Lacy until he returns (and stays healthy a few matches).

    New Lineup:
    QB: Brees
    RB1: Spiller
    RB2: Sproles
    WR1: Cruz
    WR2: Nelson
    WR3: Wayne
    TE: Graham
    W/R: Lacy
    W/T: Gronkowski

Bench: Powell, FJax, Franklin, Jeffrey, Hill, Patterson

    D: Goals(4) Assist(3)
    G: W(3) Saves(0.15) Goal Against(-0.75) Shutout(2)

C: Datsyuk, Grabovski, Backstrom, Bergeron, Bozak
W: Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, P Kane, Hall, Sharp, Kessel, Nash, Silfverberg
D: Enstrom, Letang, Kronwall, Faulk, Chara
    G: Miller, Price

    IR:
    Prospects: Galchenyuk, Nyquist, Shore

My Philosophy, do what eve you need to do to get Brees! But I'm kinda a Brees/N.O. fan!

I like it. Your team seems quite balanced.

I actually sold high on Rivers in a transaction to get Brees, but it also included me losing Charles.

    My Rivers and Charles
    for
    His Brees and Bush

Bush is no Charles, but Rivers is not in the same stratosphere as Brees.

I'm VERY deep at RB with Bush, Sproules, MJD, D. Williams, Mathews. While it hurt to lose Charles, I think adding Brees to my existing Wilson and (the lesser of the two) Manning was a good move.

Pat yourself on the back. Brees could lead you to your league's cup!

The thing is that I still believe Romo will be a very solid QB1 this year. He should improve on last year where he finished with 279 points in our format. Brees was number 1 with 346. With the easy schedule and a full season with the now elite Dez Bryant (he was pretty rubbish most of the first 9 weeks last year), I think Romo will get 310-320. Even if Brees does even better than last year and gets 360 we are talking about just 2-3 extra fantasy points per week.

I still think it was worth it as I got Powell, and was able to make two more trades.

Brees, Wayne, Powell should outperform Romo, Garcon, Miller but it is more close than you would think. FJax is now on my bench instead of Broyles.

Good analysis. And I don't disagree with much...but I feel strongly that Brees will substantially out perform Romo. I have no trust in the Tomato! He's my Son's favorite player and I wish I would have been more influential on him as he stepped into the passion for sports at just 5 years of age.

Your team is strong. NICE WORK.

I like trade 1. I love trade 2. Trade 3 is pretty close but I'd prefer the Miller+Thompkins side.

I basically agree, but trade three was more about dealing from strength. I had alot of RBs with similar type of value and needed a better starting WR for my lineup.
