I am trying to decide if I should cut ties with Elliott. I have had him on my farm for 2 years and just not sure if he is every going to become a NHL Dman. I can get a 3rd round (35th overall) prospect pick in a deep 16-team dynasty league with large farm teams. Not sure exactly who is going to be available but trying to think ahead. I can certainly post available guys when the pick is closer (still 6 picks away). Thanks for the replies.

Yep. I'm not a huge fan of Elliott, but he's still worth more than a 3rd in a prospect draft.

The three gents ahead of me said best. Keep Elliott here.
Thanks guys! That's what I was thinking but great to hear I am not alone here.
I am not a big fan, but he must hold more value then a 3rd rounder. Not much, as neither will probably contribute much to your fantasy team but at least I have a little more faith that Elliott MAY have a shot to play. I have less faith in that 3rd rounder making much of an impact.

Where do your drafted prospects go? Do they go straight to your farm, or do they go on a separate list for a year or two before you have to make a decision on them?
In the latter scenario, I might well take the 3rd rounder, free up a farm spot and plug someone else into Elliott's place. In the former scenario, I probably hold on to Elliott.
Legit NHL-level point scoring skills.. but it's the rest of the game he doesn't get yet (or simply can't handle yet...). A la Ryan Ellis. Smart offenisve ppqb, but he needs to be able to play tough in his own end, with his body or (way more likely) with his stick, in order to make it to the bigs full-time. I'd hang on.. but we're talking a short leash here. Other options emerge very quickly...

Used him as a cog in a trade last year, and current owner is looking at dropping him prior to our draft. If he does I will pick him up again (rds 3-5). Tons of potential, I just hope he can figure it out (Shattenkirk 2.0?). Keep him or someone will scoop him.
I used to think so, especially since he was expected to burst on the scene like Shattenkirk did.
The more I watch him, the more I think he compares very favourably to John-Michael Liles. Undersized speedster with a tricky good shot and very good skating and offensive instincts. But largely overmatched in the defensive zone and basically needs a very very very steady, all-defensive partner to play with if he's going to have any success. He can't become a No.1 D.. He's a #4 PP specialist and is going to score lots on the rush at 5-5, but he needs to convince Colorado mgmt that he's good enough to play regular minutes. Right now, he's not.
