    Default Last Roster Spot (Mackinnon)

Hey guys... haven't posted much since the BS that we had to endure last year, but I got the bug back! Thank goodness!

My team in sig... drafted last week.

In a late pick of the draft I snagged Mackinnon. Sounds like a no brainer, but if I can't keep him at wing (due to extended play at the pivot - our positions are based on where they actually place versus an established eligibility), then I gotta move him to compete for a title this year.

How many of you guys think he'll have more than 60-65 points this year?

And do you think he will stay at 3rd line Center or move to top 6 Winger this season? If he moves, how long will this take?

There is no trade value for him right now in my league, so should I go after one of the following while they are still available:

Silfverberg (huge benefit owning an Anaheim player due to schedule),
    Tlusty,
    Ryder,
    Whitney,
    Oshie,
    Vrbata

    Thanks!

That's an icky situation. What I would try and do is trade two centers (say Toews and Kesler) and upgrade to one better center (say Tavares/Giroux). If course a value of the deal would need to be worked out, I'm just throwing names out there as an example.

    Giroux + MacKinnon > Toews + Kesler

    COL's future is Duchene/Mackinnon at C1/C2.
Paul Stastny will not be on the team this time next year.

That said, it may be 3 years before Mackinnon can score at a rate of Toews/Spezza, so it's a serious downgrade to consider him as a keeper.

I'd look at adding Radim Vrbata... who has shown all the makings of a potential 60-65pt winger at RW1 for Phoenix. Mike Ribeiro might be the most talented C1 that he has had a chance to play with.
