How early is to early for Mackinnon?

Hey Guys-
So we are in the start of the 4th rd in this keeper (keep 8) league and was wondering when to start considering taking Mackinon. Since its only a 10 team league, there are still some excellent players available. Some of those players include: Zetterberg, St Louis, Datsyuk, Nash, Hossa, Thornton, Vanek, Spezza etc etc etc.
Some younger guys also like: Seguin, Ryan, Benn, RNH, Yakupov etc etc etc.
With so many great guys still left, do you consider taking Mackinnon this early or should he not even be considered until the 6th,7th,8th rd etc.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

If it's the inaugural year, I'd be tempted to grab MacKinnon asap.
Barring a catastrophe, it seems pretty safe to say that he'll be an absolute stud before too long.
You only get so many chances to grab a superstar-to-be like MacKinnon, so you might want to make sure you get him.

I have no problem taking him above guys like dats, zetterberg, nash, spezza etc etc, but do you take him above a Benn or Ryan given the league cats? I was a bit torn on that.
Benn for example, has been a top 20 Forward each of the last two seasons in this setup.

I think who you take is going to depend alot on how you are building your team - are you going for the win now or are you building for a year or two down the road. Tough choices always - but as long as you don't reach large I think you are within acceptable margins of error.
Ideally I would hope to catch him in the fourth round and take one of Ryan or Benn before him - but he might be gone due to the hype that surrounds stud prospects.
