Default JVR or J. Staal? REP!

I have a few teams in talks over JVR and J. Staal, and I'm trying to decide which one I should move. I have the same offer on the table for both players so don't worry about that (I won't go into details, but let's just say it improves my D and I like the deal).

Both JVR and J. Staal have had their injury issues, but both are promising young players (who seem like they have been around forever!). I'd appreciate some input as to what you guys expect from these guys in the next 3 years, with respect to my league categories. Who would you rather own?!

    League is in sig.

    Thanks!

I'd keep JVR. Staal hasn't really panned out in Carolina and JVR did well in Toronto last season.

I'd be more willing to deal Jordan Staal. I think JVR has yet to reach his ceiling and last season was just a taste of how good he can be. J. Staal is stuck on the 2nd line with two of the most injury prone players out there right now(Ruutu/Skinner).

They are very close but I think JVR has more upside. He just needs more consistency. I'll take the upside here.

I like J. Staal for you because of the league categories. JVR is great and I think he'll get more points but your centers are pretty thin with Benn likely moving back to the wing. You'll need the extra categories Staal will contribute to.

Jvr for sure. Staal is a fine NHL player but his contributions have never translated adequately enough to most fantasy formats. JVR will be more valuable this year,

Based on last year's stats, Stall will get you substantially more Hits and FOW (assuming VanR sticks on wing). VanR more SOG. They are about a wash on points, but I like VanR's upside more than Staal's at this point. Very difficult to say who is more valuable as some of your positions look completely out of whack.

I agree with this. Staal is money with those categories.

    Thanks for the input guys.

I'm waiting for ESPN to update their positions (ie add dual eligibility) again before the start of the season, but I'm expecting my C/ LW to break down like this:

C: J.Staal, Backes, Laich (C/LW), Weiss, Hanzal, Fisher
LW: Hartnell, Lupul, Ryan (LW/RW), Benn (C/LW), JVR (C/LW)

As a few of you noted, JVR and Benn should move back to the wing for the foreseeable future, leaving me a little weak at C (right now I have more quantity than quality at C!). I guess it comes down to Staal's lower upside but better peripherals Vs JVR's higher upside but lower FOW/BkS/Hit totals
