    Is this a joke? Koivu all day long.

    Richards looked like a 60 year old lady last year. He was aweful.

    I don't think this is a joke at all; I can see an argument for Richards.

    Koivu historically has a tough time staying healhy enough to play a full slate (although he played the full 48 last season). And regardless of how awful Richards looked last season, let's put it in perspective: he had 3 less points than Koivu in 2 fewer games.

    Now, all in all, I might actually be tempted to take Koivu here as well (only because he's about 3 years younger than Richards and it's a keeper league). But the anti-Richards vitriol just has to be kept in check a little in my opinion. New coach; new offensive philosophy; a former Conn Smythe winner who was embarrased about his fitness and performance last season and essentially had to pitch himself and his dedication to team execs (and fans) this offseason to avoid being a buyout casualty. Just saying that I'd be wary of dismissing Richards outright so easily.
