I had also heard that the NHL schedule would be released today.

So - the block of time for the Olympics (two weeks, early Feb) would need to have been reserved if the deal was in place.

I wonder if we'll get a slightly more packed schedule, earlier start date, or later end date to accomodate the Olympic two weeks?

I Don't care I just really hope they get this thing DONE!

2 weeks is not that hard to make up, start 1 week early and end 1 week later and you can have the same schedule compaction as a regular season. I wonder if the NHL will consider skipping the All-Star Game again to accompany the Olympics? They did last time around but that would be 2 straight years without an All-Star game which despite its lack of action would still be a shocker to me.

Team Canada is discussed extensively here:

    and goalies here:

    Team Sweden here:

I don't recall any threads about the other countries but I'm sure they'll pop up if an announcement is made about the NHL going to the Olympics and Countries start releasing their short lists.

this could be fake but it is allegedly the leaked schedule of the Panthers for next season:

    Looks right.

NHL season typically starts on first Thursday in October.
    Interesting note:
41 games in calendar year 2013.
41 games in calendar year 2014.

My guess is the NHL has 2 schedules drafted: 1 with an Olympic break and 1 without, this schedule is obviously for an Olympic break. Hopefully the leaking means they’re close to getting an Olympic deal done but I’d bet they have a contingency plan in place in case that falls through.

    Awesome.
I don't even really care about the Olympics.

I just want the NHL schedule so I can poke rjfisher to make the SAME NIGHT TOOL. It is essentially the "kick-off" to Fantasy Hockey 2013-2014!!!
