Blues Get 3rd Round Pick for Mayers

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has acquired a 2008 3rd round draft pick, 70th overall, from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Jamal Mayers.

“I want to thank Jamal for everything he has done for the Blues and the city of St. Louis,” said Davidson. “We wish Jamal and his family nothing but the best in his hometown of Toronto.”


Why TOR do this trade when they are trying to get younger not old.I think that was a bad move by the GM.

He\'s a decent skater and a good energy guy so for a third rounder that odds are will never crack the lineup, it might be an OK trade. There are younger layers that can play his role though and that have some experience. Besides, it wouldn\'t be the Leafs if they didn\'t make at least a few questionable transactions every season.

I\'m a leafs fan and I\'m okay with it. I\'m not ecstatic, but this was th pick we got for Kilger, so Kilger for Mayers is a good trade for me, I absolutely love him.

Apparently St. Louis fans are upset, thinking they got little to nothing in return for him, he is a fan favourite there, the St. Louis newspaper articles are biased on the sides of remorse.

Its not quite rebuilding, but they know they\'re in the rebuilding stage where as last year they didn\'t, so im not worried.
