They knew that wouldn't last, and it was confirmed in the worst case scenario as Crosby notched his second career post-season hit trick. That makes 12 points in seven playoff games this season for #87. As much as those that suffer from CDS(Crosby Derangement Syndrome) hate him, you got respect the damage he can inflict all by himself.

Goalies optional
Tomas Vokoun and Craig Anderson combined to give lovers of offense plenty to cheer about. The starting netminders allowed a combined total of six goals on 43 shots. Craig Anderson got the best and worst of it so to speak. Sens fans will rightfully argue there was no good part for Andy, but subjectively speaking he had a front row seat for the Sid The Kid show. Anderson lasted all of 21 minutes, surrendered all three Crosby goals, and faced as many shots as he had minutes played. Talk about a shooting gallery. Now Andy knows what those ducks at the carnival feel like.
Deep thoughts from a shallow mind
- Paul Martin and Kris Letang each had two helpers. Letang also had five shots.
- Kunitz, Malkin, Neal, and Niskanen all had an assist and combined to account for 14 shots.
- Jarome Iginla may have gone scoreless but it wasn't for lack of shooting. Iggy had a game high eight shots.
- Malkin, Neal, and Iginla finished a combined minus-3.
- Wunderkinds Karlsson and Silfverberg were not only a combined minus-4, they both failed to record a single shot.
- Kyle Turris added a goal and was 15-9 on faceoffs.
- Robin Lehner came in to relieve Anderson and kept Ottawa in the game in spite of the fact that he was hung with the loss. Lehner stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced.
Boy did you make a nice meal from scraps. Good work, NWO!!
