Thanks for the clarification guys!
I just find it odd that they passed up the chance to have a 100% Canadian matchup on Saturday night for HNIC but I guess the Leafs play that night, right? :P

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.
League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.
We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.
Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid
So the Avs won the lottery... They will probably draft Seth Jones.
What kind of package would you be ready to offer to grab Jones? He is exactly, in my opinion, the piece that would make the Habs a power house for the next decade. With him and PK on the blue line, Gorges signed for the foreseable future and Diaz emerging as a solid #4/5 Dman, the blue line would be pretty good.
#1 defensemen are so tough to get in the NHL, that you need to draft them, or to really overpay for them, either in a trade (Erik Johnson, Alex Goligoski, and they are not even in the elite) or via free agency (Suter, Weber).
Would Colorado listen to a Tinordi-Beaulieu-Habs 1st in 2013 offer?
Do you think it is enough? Too much?
Just want to entertain discussion, not saying that it is imperative to make this move, so refrain your insults/sarcasm.
Not enough. If you think Jones is going to be a powerhouse, a true #1 dman, the offer has to start with Subban. Montreal wouldn't give him up, so a deal won't be done.
If you want a deal that doesn't include Subban, it would have to start with a first, MaxPac, Tinordi, plus more. And if I'm Colorado, I still don't take that package for Jones.
Like you said, Jones could be great for the next decade. He's from Colorado. The Avalanche would love to have an American star to lead them. So it would take way too much.
I would rather make a deal with Tampa and get Drouin or MacKinnon (whoever is left). The Habs need more depth/young guys at forward than on defence.

While I agree that, if I'm Sherman (or whoever replaces him soon), I don't accept this deal, I don't agree with your last statement. I think that the depth is pretty much the same on defense than on offense, but you cannot have enough stud Dmen.
In two years from now, the blue line will look like:
Gorges-Subban
Emelin-Diaz
Tinordi-Beaulieu
which is good, but far from great.
Honestly I think the Seth Jones talk is a bit of a waste of time. The Avs will not trade the pick. It never happens anymore. The Habs have good prospects but lack the real assets that it would take to pull it off. It wouldn't happen without guys like Pacioretty, Eller, Galchenyuk or Subban being involved.

The Habs waived Alex Avtsin todaym with the intent of letting him go...
Great size and skill set, he was a gamble worth taking in the 4th round.
Heard a lot about him from time to time, usually in training camp.
Too bad. I saw him play once when the Bulldogs were at the Bell Centre and he intrigued me. A lot of size and great hands but never really seemed quite right. His positionning was always mediocre and his effort pretty average.
But as you said, it was worth the gamble in the fourth round.
