What a surprise....Samuelsson is day to day again...

The more interesting note from this article is that Brian Lashoff was sent down after yesterday's game and Colaiacovo was brought up.
Not surprised with this move with the way the Wings have come together defensively. Still very impressed with Kindl's growth this year.Defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo was assigned to Grand Rapids on a conditioning stint.

Some interesting injury updates for the Wings this week...

Defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo will be back in the lineup tonight against the Avalanche, but the Red Wings will be without forward Henrik Zetterberg and Mikael Samuelsson.
Defenseman Kyle Quincey (jaw) said he hoped to return to the lineup on Thursday when the Wings visit Phoenix.
“Is that what he said?” Babcock said. “It’ll be a battle. I think (Danny) DeKeyser thinks he’s playing Thursday too, so that’s good. I like having too many.
I am a die-hard Avalanche fan!

The Red Wings were quiet on deadline day, here's more on why.

Abdelkader now has more goals than Franzen this year. Yes he had the one big game....but still. Let's frigging GO Johan!
VERY surprised they didn't review the earlier play where Niemi stopped it on the goal line. After a few replays shown by the broadcast team, it wasn't in. But still close enough to warrant a review.
Niemi stopped the Brunner "Datsyuk" moved AND a Nyquist spin-o-rama where he literally had half the net. Howard's fiver was wide open....
Painful....
Hawks' rookie makes it look easy in the shootout....Brunner and Nyquist fail to score again with two chances to win the game.
The Wings were running around in their end in the third again and it led to the tying goal. Right before it though Miller somehow over powered a shorthanded pass to Emmerton, who would have had a breakaway.
Viktor Stalberg better be the 1st star of that game. He was unreal.
Positive is they still gained a point and depending on what happens in the Phoenix game.................no joke I just turned to it AS the Coyotes tie it.....
If I can take anything away from their sweep at the hands of the Hawks this year......three games went to OT with two ending in a shootout. If they make the playoffs, it'll likely be facing Chicago.
Big win for the Wings tonight.
3 goals isn't a lot....but it;s the first time they've scored that many in 3 games. They also did something they have failed to do in the past two games and that's put a team away in the 3rd.
That game won we my play off game today. I needed a goal from zetts and a strong game from jimmy. Done.

Two UGLY 3rd periods in Calgary this year could cost the Wings a playoffs spot.
0-3 vs the Flames in 2013.
HUGE game tonight for the Wings. They have a back to back Wednesday and Thursday with LA and Nashville....all three games at home.
Need a win tonight if they want Saturday's game vs Dallas to mean anything
