Cannot believe this was vetoed. I know the feel, as I too am in a league with my friends. It's tough to quit, but if you're putting money on the line and having deals turned around in cases like this, something's gotta give. Either get a commish who knows what he's doing or suck it up and find a new league. But stuff like this infuriates me and cannot happen.

The essay above puts it best: commissioners that don't understand what collusion is and have to "approve" every trade kills leagues.

You're in a crap situation, so good luck with whatever you choose to do.

It's funny because I'm the youngest member in the group and they're acting unreasonable. Dan has probally the best team followed by the guy I traded the depth to. Dan says I'm 3rd in points for (true) but I'm also very close to leading for least points against and had good luck in matchups.
haha, sorry fella, dont know how i mis-read that.

in any case its tough because you like the guys your in the league with, so quitting may not go over so well, but i think if you do it right you can probly save teh league from imploding on itself if you tell them why you are leaving. If they can see that the eay ots being handled with respect to trdaes, then maybe they will re-think that part of it.

either way that trade was not veto-able and needs to be adressed someway.

To the user from earlier about limited keepers,

I also am in a limited keeper and would disagree with the idea that trading assets for picks is a poor way to play. In fact having the limited keeper adds to the "parity" in a league and acts as a pseudo salary cap in a non-cap league.

I think its already been mentioned but it forces managers to manage their limited assets better and plan for future drafts much more diligiently and effectively

It also makes for very interesting drafts as varying assets end up making their way back into circulation (Contending teams that aren't able to make season ending transactions tend to let Gold back into the draft pool) and that makes the early picks much much more valuable for the non contending teams.

I remember two years ago (and it makes me tear a little (a lot)) when I had to choose 2 of Karlsson, Doughty, and Subban. We had just introduced Hits and Blocks and I chose Subban and Doughty for more of the "multi catness" and Karlsson hadn't gone beast mode yet........ But it made for a very interesting draft year...

Found that its a great little perspective into the microchasm of team cycles from contenders to rebuilders

    Just my 2c!

Seriously man, show them this thread. Had this type of BS happen to me in a football league, posted on a forum and got this kind of response. The trade got unvetoed and I won the championship.

Especially if there's money on the line.
