Stupid question time, but what does AAV actually stand for? I see it all the time now, but no one ever mentions what it is short for.

On Twitter, it makes sense. In his column, less so. His column was 2,726 words, and 15,478 characters (with spaces). He couldn't have mentioned on first reference "It sounds like the Ducks were hoping to get him signed for an average annual value (AAV) of $7.5 million US."
Boom. Five extra characters, and now it makes sense the rest of the way.
