Being an owner of both, I would do that deal. But I'd do the deal also if it was the other way around.
Both are coming off bad years. Doughty had a good playoff run, but his season stats were underwhelming to say the least.
In the end, both are high end options for defensmen in any formats and you cannot go wrong with either I think.
I do see Green having a couple of points more than Doughty this year though. But that's mostly due to the team style of play.
It's been said several times here that the Caps without Green are struggling offensively. He is a much bigger part of the offense than people realise.
And in response to the big contract comment regarding Green. It's hard to say that without looking at Doughty's 7M$/year for 8 years and not think the same thing, especially considering that he already won a stanley cup.

Green for me. Finally healthy and with a new coach. There may be some risk because of injury but ill take the potential reward of 25 goals and 35 assists.
People who think picking doughty is a no brainier have no brains at all.

This is true, but remember Doughty is only 22...Green didn't have his first 50+ season until that age.
Green's ceiling is higher IF he can stay healthy and return to form, but IMO we haven't seen Doughty's best season yet...
