The most distinguishing thing about Frk during development camp was that he always wanted to do great things and almost every time he failed he became visibly upset with himself, so Jiri Fischer (head of player development for Detroit these days) said that they were going to put a lot of energy into the mental side of Frk's development. It's good that he wants to be a gamebreaker and do well, but he'll have a frustrating time if he's THAT hard on himself even in drills. The guy can shoot, that's for sure, and he has a shot at becoming a good second line physical winger. But he's a pretty long way away from the NHL.

I watched Frk a lot last season, and I agree with most of those observations. He tries to do a lot, and gets very frustrated when it doesn't work. I'm hoping an extended healthy stretch will help him put it together more this year. Well, that and playing on a power play with Mackinnon and Drouin.

Regarding Frk... I think his "problem" is a good thing. Clearly he wants to be the best. But he's 18, so his game is obviously flawed. I just like that he has the mindset of a star.
