Should I grab Hodgson who is sitting on the wire?
I suppose it makes sense that Hodgson step into Kesler's role.. although it could make just as much sense to push up both Malhotra and Lapierre and have Hodgson center the fourth line. I think he'll definitely get a look there if he can prove he deserves the shot in camp. The one thing that I think it could mean is that odds have gone up that he may get a shot with the big club at the start of the season, instead of starting in the AHL. Worth a shot if you have an empty roster spot, but I wouldn't bank on a guaranteed roster spot especially considering the last time Kesler had this surgery he was back in what I believe was 72 days....That's more around the 8 week mark rather than the 10-12 month suggested lay-off. Kesler could be back for the start of the season, no guarantee that he's still out at that time.
