D: RT @ChrisKuc: #Blackhawks' Duncan Keith said he'll have hand evaluated tomorrow. Defenseman got hit with puck in third.
    tweet

News: Keith didn't play after blocking a shot with his hand on the penalty kill in third period of Saturday's win over the Leafs. Analysis: He retreated to the dressing room but returned to the bench only to sit there with an ice pack on his hand. Television cameras showed him trying to bend his first finger on his right hand but to no avail. His production is way down this year compared to his outburst last season and a potential broken finger will only compound that situation. It'll slow him down even if it isn't broken -- it's hard to get a lot of power if you can't hold the top of your stick with strength.

D Duncan Keith (hand) missed shifts in the third period Saturday after blocking a shot with his hand. He will be re-evaluated during the Hawks' two-game trip in Florida.

Not that he was doing a whole lot before the injury, but this still warrants a sigh of relief:

Updating earlier reports, Keith (hand/finger) is expected to play Tuesday against the Panthers.

Spin: It's worth noting this nugget, since it comes from the keyboard of Adam Jahns, who earlier tweeted without qualification that Keith would play. Regarding Keith and fellow defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson, coach Joel Quenneville noted Monday that "both are expected to play [Tuesday against the Florida Panthers]...They should be fine."
