Gardiner, to my knowledge, hasn't played as outstanding of late. And they have a winning line-up and Aulie isn't playing bad, either. And he's also played in the NHL (and AHL) last year so he has that experience too. And Aulie isn't exactly playing bad from what I saw either.
Although it's funny as I read 5 minutes ago Gardiner was assigned to the Marlies until an injury happened or a spot cleared to give him some time while this line-up stays, then I come here and see he's been recalled.
With Bozak back, and Liles/Armstrong looking close, and Frattin (among others) still in the AHL...
Something has to be brewing. Too many bodies for so little spots.

I don't think that Burke is that close to a trigger yet. The team was close in Friday's game and just couldn't get a good scoring chance on Saturday the 2nd night of a B2B. They've lost 2 in 2 nights - fine, but after a 4 win streak.
I don't think that a deal would happen until later this week, I feel. Win or lose. Wait until Liles is confirmed as being close (EDIT : as being within a day or two of playing) to make that impact deal and start running.
