It's so early in the season, but I have to say I might have been wrong on the effect Reaves will have on the team.

Still very early though, and Reaves can't average a fight/game.

Game 4 and the refs were right in mid-playoff form.

I thought Reaves, Bertuzzi, and Domi was supposed to end this stuff or push back? Reaves even chirped at a golf tournament that he would prevent shit from happening. He should be ashamed. He's on the roster for 1 reason.

The team doesn't know the long game it seems. Like after the 2nd period, with Tkachuk being too close to Samsonov all night, something should have been done. Punt the game, and let the league know you can't do stuff like this.

Kampf has been babysitting Reaves and has been getting a lot of O-zone starts in order shelter Reaves. Domi hasn't looked good with Tavares and Nylander and he'll be a defensive black hole on a 3rd line. Just a clunky combination of forwards.

Domi-AM-Marner
Bertuzzi-JT-Nylander
Knies-Kampf-Jarnkrok
Gregor-Holmberg-Reaves
Minten to CHL.

Or have Domi centering Knies and someone else. I dunno, Domi on the roster just isn't versatile enough.

You can't start Reaves in the defensive zone right now, but you need to start Matthews/Tavares in the offensive zone. So that limits where you can use Reaves.

Honestly, last night, I would have had a shift or two with AM/Marner/Reaves in the defensive zone when they were up against Tkachuk. Sole purpose to stop him.

Joseph Woll looks goooooood. Samsonov is scheduled to start Saturday (announced before yesterdays game).

McCabe played 10s, I thought I heard it was his groin (listed as LBI). Keefe said he needs imaging and won't play Saturday. Sounds like it's not a short term thing. Cap wise, no idea what they can do if McCabe isn't an LTIR candidate and if he is that's not good.

I'm guessing they can send Minten to the CHL and call up Benoit or someone else. Timmins was listed as week-to-week with a "significant" LBI 3-4 weeks ago, then landed on LTIR 2 weeks ago meaning the earliest he can come back is Nov2.

I agree. Woll has looked fantastic. I had to make a tough decision to drop Korpisalo and promote Woll from the minors but I got him for the Washington and Dallas game and was thrilled with his performance.

Well in typical Leaf fashion, after Tuesdays dismal showing, I expect a good effort tonight. Ofcourse Keefe would never allow Woll to go on a run….. ho hum.

The free agents Treeliving signed have all been disappointments and now they have a couple of their D out. And can anyone tell me why the Leafs needed to sign a 5.5 M LW to play with Matthews and Marner? Shouldn't the Leafs have found a cheap 3rd wheel that Matthews and Marner could carry and spend the rest of Bertuzzi's cap space on a 3rd line center and some forwards that actually make sense in a 4 line rotation? But hey- I hear that Reaves is great in the room and does an excellent job running the Leaf's fantasy football league. That's gotta be worth an extra 500K per year and a couple extra years of term.
