Some combo of picks/Chychrun/Gostibhere/Moser for Marner. That’s what I’d do.

If things don't turn around, Keefe said he will split Marner/Matthews up.

The plan is to have Liljegren make his debut on Saturday vs Boston

    Holmberg making his debut tonight.
    Bunting - Matthews - Marner
    Kerfoot - JT - Nylander
    Engvall - Holmberg - Jarnkrok
    ZAR - Kampf - Malgin

Matthews was so disrespectful that game lol.
    - The kicking Konecny after his goal by accident, but not noticing/caring lol
    - Laughing at the Sandstrom broken blade on JT's goal
    - Chirping and laughing at players during the scuffle
    - Up a couple of goals and doing the between the legs shot

Justin Holl...Omg why is he always on for goals against?

Matthews does that crap because he knows he doesn't have to defend himself when the bell is rung. He knows his teammates will jump in and defend him, as they did last night. It's easy to be an a$$ when you dont have to take responsibility for your actions.

I def think Matthews shouldn't be dealing with this stuff, otherwise teams will know a way to get him off the ice. However, I would like to see him lay a hit during play and chirp the guy lol. It seems like 5 days ago Matthews wouldn't be smiling during those interactions, he seemed to get a bit of swag back through the JT goal.

But ya it's easy to chirp Hayes and Konecny when you know you don't have to do anything really. And if I'm a Flyers fan I'm angry that Matthews was chirping and doing a lot of stuff, but no fighting.

I dont expect him to drop the gloves. He's not going to do that, but I would love to see him chirp and then NOT have his teammates stick up for him and teach him a lesson. Hell, even Sid has dropped the gloves on occasion.

Ya I agree, sometimes I hope he does something, but I wish he would just go out and lay a hit on the guy who was chirping him or trying to start something. But that's out of my pet peeve of post whistle BS from a losing team. Post whistle stuff is just annoying to me. But I also like how little fighting happens, it's the way it really should be. But even Gio's fight yesterday was a fight that shouldn't happen in the league because it was all started from a team that was losing trying to spark something because they can't spark something during play.

    4 Biggest Pet Peeves are:
    - A fight starting because a big legal hit was laid
    - Post whistle stuff started by a team that's losing just to start something
    - Challenges. Taking more than 30s to call for a challenge, and reviewing the play for more than 30s

I can definitely relate in regards to the fights after a legal hit. That one is stupid to me too.

The post whistle stuff annoys me as well but more when it happens around the net after the goalie has made a safe. Watching Dmen "push" forwards who are just standing near the goalie is a pet peeve of mine. They aren't doing anything but standing there so why the need to push them at all. It's not like they are digging at your goalie or anything. Dumb.

Another big pet peeve of mine, which has come to the forefront lately as far as goals being called back, is Dmen pushing opposing players into their own goalie, or the goalie interference rule in general. We saw it last week when Seth Jones basically flipped Evander Kane into Stalock, Kane gets up and scores a goal and it gets called off for goalie interference. He didnt get a penalty, but they disallowed the goal. Now I hate Evander Kane as much as the next guy but he was clearly outside the crease until Jones panhandled him into the crease and on top of Stalock. A different example, the other night, in the Toronto/Anaheim game, no way that should have gone to OT because Vatrano had scored a legit goal but it was called back again after Keefe challenged for goalie interference. I dont think anyone was expecting that goal to get called back but surprise surprise. No Ducks in the crease, a battle in front of the goalie and if he was interfered with by anyone, it was his own Dman. Brutal call. The goaltender interference calls are a head scratcher for most involved, not just fans but for the NHL teams in general as well. They really need to tighten up the rules on this one. I guess I could break this one up into two different gripes I have.

I actually watched Holl in last nights game. He looks clearly lost. Reminds of Michel Petit and J.J.Daigneault of the Vancouver Canucks back in the 80’s. We used to refer to them as the giveaway twins. A complete nightmare to watch when they were paired up.

If you solely watch Holl, he does SO MANY small things that are just so..."why?". He clearly doesn't think when he's on the ice, he just does the play he thinks should happen if that makes sense. He's in the defensive zone and gets pressured, he puts it up the boards without looking at whose there. He just assumes. He is on a faceoff, he thinks "I need to tie this guy up" and does even tho he could have won the puck without tying the guy up.

He just does things that "should be the right play" and isn't thinking "Is this the right play" and I think that's why he got away with things for so long because people would go "oh well he put it up the boards and Marner wasn't there. That's on Marner". If you just watch him, he's infuriating.

Watch him try and exit the zone when he has a bit of time before being pressured. The guy starts thinking, looking at where to go, then gets pressured and just throws it to the boards. Omg I get heated even thinking about how he plays.
