leafs took 3 outta 4 pts @tb/@fla and it looks like campbell is getting his mojo back last night's 3rd period notwithstanding. florida has done that to a few teams now and im sure fatigue was a factor for the leafs.

So what's the opinion now on Holl or Dermott?

Idk how well he's been playing over in Vancouver.

Different styles of play and play different sides. Holl also plays on the PK, which Dermott never did. Holl "fits" the 7th D more than Dermott. As much as I hate Holl, he fits more roster structure wise than Dermott.

    Practice lines today:
    Bunting - Matthews - Marner
    Mikheyev - Tavares - Kerfoot
    Nylander - Kampf - Engvall
    Abruzzese - Blackwell - Simmonds
    Extra: Clifford, Spezza

    Rielly - Lybushkin
    Muzzin - Brodie
    Giordano - Holl
    Liljegren

    Campbell (Starter)
    Kallgren

If Holl has yet another bad game...He has to be sitting Saturday right? Like I get the "sit one of the fringe guys and see what grouping works" strat as we get close to the playoffs, but omg. Holl needs to be part of this sitting experiment

I had the idea in my head that Dermott Left shoot was lacking on TOR, but that is not the case.

It is not the case with Gio, Sandin, Muzzin and Rielly. The absence of Muzzin made it seem like the Leafs needed Dermott more than they really did.

yeah, definitely too bad he missed 2 games to that suspension and 3 early on recovering from injury.

9 goals in 11 games to hit 65 though...... seems totally doable for this guy since hes basically matchup proof.

Most goals by an American in 1 season. Could get 50 in 50.

Last nights goal was reminiscent of when Donaldson hit that HR vs the Rays for the walk off win to lock up the MVP. That's just what it felt like.

9th all time in Leafs all time goals. 6 goals away from overpassing Clark in Leaf goals

Muzzin out tmo - undisclosed "not related to his last injury and isn't 100%"
Kase out tmo - concussion (I think it's the first time they've officially said concussion)
Sandin was skating on his own before practice, sustained that knee injury a few weeks ago.
    Maintenance day for Matthews
    Simmonds dealing with an illness
Kallgren starting. Campbell isn't quite 100% and could use the rest.

    Leafs D pairing at practice:
    Rielly - Liljegren
    Brodie - Holl
    Gio - Lybush

Also didn't realize the Rocket Trophy was first awarded in 1998-99 season, and the highest goal total of a Richard winner was Ovi with 65 in 2007-08 season. Matthews has an opportunity to be the highest scoring Rocket winner.

8 goals in 10 games definitely doable for this guy.
