i like the black/blue kit, very nice. looks intimidating. you can dislike justin bieber thats fine but the purpose is to appeal to the 'next gen' so this partnership is meant for the younger audience. i thought the tim-biebs were actually pretty good. i still prefer my good ole favourite chocolate glaze though

in a similar vein, matthews and bieber's friendship is the leafs' best chance at matthews signing long-term past his current deal (outside of winning a cup).

The jerseys sucked on the ice tho. It was almost impossible to tell what was on the jerseys live. But that's not what they are really designed for.

Beiber loving the Leafs is something special that isn't explored enough. It's the NHL version of Drake and the Raps. AKA celebrity loving the team, but including the NHL marketing lol.

yeah, i could see it not translating well on the ice (i didnt watch the game) dark on dark with only a very minimal white trim. maybe they should just wear the yellow side next time hahaha

i read a tweet saying these jerseys are the #1 sellers on the NHL.com website in both canada and the us. another tweet pointed out bieber has 330 million followers among all his platforms. getting more fans into hockey and buying merchandise is a win in my books.

I'm wondering what happens with Taylor Hall and the punch to Lybushkin. I'm thinking fine? But who knows. It's something that in my mind should be a suspension just because it's a dumb, dangerous play and retaliation.

I hate retaliation stuff. It's not even an attempt to play hockey, it's legit intent to injure on any of that stuff. Whatever, I can't even seriously guess what will happen.

NHL Rule:
Section 6, 46.15
"A match penalty shall be assessed to a player who punches an unsuspecting or unwilling opponent (ie sucker punch) and causes an injury"


NHL refs missed a legit rule in the rulebook and have no consequences. NHL DOPS didn't address this either. It's no longer about how the rules are written, it's about refs quality of work to me.
