My god, they actually got something for him...I guess he's really only being paid like 750k now because of his signing bonus was making up most of his salary, but damn...Leafs got some ECHL goalie depth.

Not sure it blocks Dermott so to speak. All depends on what he does in his 1st full season. Likely looking for Pairing replacement with Rielly. I still think Dermott can earn 2nd pairing status with Hainsey dropping to the bottom pairing. But Dermott would have to beat Gardiner or Zaitsev out to nab 2nd pairing minutes.
Interesting. Don't like to see Brown go, but I just don't see Leivo actually cracking the roster. But both and a 2019 1st? Doubt it happens. not for Faulk.

Hard to say about Dermott. I do think Faulk isn't really what the Leafs need though. They really need more defensive Dmen on their roster as they seem to be flush with offensive guys. Polak is the type of guy they need, only a better player then Polak. Hainsey is the only real solid defensive Dman they own right now and thats why he gets the icetime he gets. Dont get me wrong, you can never have too many Dmen, but the Leafs seem a bit heavy on one type and that isn't always a good thing. Just my opinion on the whole Faulk to TO rumor.

Who was that defenseman the Leafs had that was just always held out of the lineup and no one knew why? I'm not saying Leivo is that guy, but watching him play he seems more like a 3rd liner who can score than a 2nd liner who can bring energy. But his perceived value in Toronto is a 2nd liner.
I want to keep Brown as long as we can, his contract is great. 2 more years at 2.1mill, and he's still an RFA after.

It’s silly some reporters think that your best players are going to get pouty when another top player joins the team. Do you want to win or not? If player actually were going to be like that I wouldn’t want them on my team because it’s a cancerous attitude. Eichel strikes me that way a bit but not Matthews.
