Is it me or do they play like they should win 4-1, but end up doing a couple of bad plays and always get themselves into a closer game?

Was anyone else surprised that the Leafs franchise record is only 46 wins?? Im not trying to be a jerk haha....I just triple taked when I saw that!

That can't be very good in comparison to other teams. But I would have thought some of those 90s/00s playoff teams would have been up towards 50 wins in a year.

From the beginning of the league will 1998-99 season there was just W-L-T. Leafs most Wins in that time was the 1998-99 season with 45W-30-7 for 97pts. Those 7 ties would be either OTL or OTW until the Shootout came into play. Between 1999-2000 and 2003-04 seasons they went to OT. Leafs best season in that time frame was 2003-04 with a record of 45W-24L-10T-3OTL for 103pts. Those 10T would be SOL or SOW now. So the record would likely be higher in the wins column there as well.

Between 2005-06 and now their best seasons were this yr and last yr.

So it has been the team that has held them back at beating that 46w total, but also the league system back in the 1990’s-2000’s when the Leafs were strong also holding them back.

I personally think the Lightning would be a good match for the Leafs. Looks like we're catching them at just the right time too with Vasi and the team struggling over the last month and now Stammer may be injured.

Oh ya. Lightning would be a great matchup. Even with Stammer in I would take the Leafs.

It may be the blinders talking, but I think the Leafs can hang with anyone in the East other than the Bruins.

They match up well against the Lightning and are catching them at an opportunistic time... could have been a lot worse.

I think the Leafs are adequate on defense. Just looking quickly at goals against they are better than average. Dermott has made a huge difference. Without him the defense lacks IMO.

We all know a goalie can win a series or two. This team will go as far as Andersen takes them.

Huge game today between Tampa and Boston. To me it doesn't matter who we play. I think we can beat any team in the East. I think Washington or Pittsburgh would be our biggest hurdle.

Nothing is official yet. I prefer the Bruins myself. If we are going to win we have to get through both teams and I want that sweet sweet revenge from 2013. I'm. It sure which of the 3 teams are going to represent the Atlantic in the East Final but you can make a case for any of them. Leafs can pull it off.
