I'm excited as I get to watch the game tonight. Going over to my mother-in-laws early to catch it.

I'm curious about the whole Kubina being benched to protect him as an asset. He's a type of guy that's been linked to the Sharks before. Would be hilarious if they decide to trade for him before the game and just has to walk across the rink a la Mike Fontenot of the Giants when they acquired him in between a double header between the Cubs on a Saturday.

I watched the first two periods and thought it was a good game. Was surprised to see the trade happen during the game there or just before. It's a good depth move without giving up too much. Like I said elsewhere, I am curious if this is a depth move that's a precursor to something else a la Rick Nash (though I don't think they need him).

Sharks Lost Murray for a little bit the other night. Vlasic gets hit in the head and leaves the ice bleeding. Hopefully no concussion or any other damage. Pavelski takes a shot to the head from Lidstrom, and Colin White takes a puck on the inside of the skate. I just hope this game doesn't cripple their playoff run. So many fluky plays today. I'm not even concerned about the win, just more concerned about the health of the team after today. Hope Pavelski is truly okay. He's not leaving, but he's a bold dude.

This has been a terrible road trip, and it sucks that it's been so long. Sheesh. How does Columbus make them look this bad. I swear Howson just trying to entice the Sharks to do something rash for Carter or Nash, but they can't afford to give up their young talent.

I don't think DW likes the market for defense at all. If I was him, I probably wouldn't either. His window is closing on this team being viable for a long time. I say 3 more seasons and this it's scrap it and retry with a new group for the Cup. So I don't think he wants to give up picks too much like he used to.

Only way I see him getting a d-man is if we get one coming back in a huge blockbuster for Nash and I don't think that will happen anymore.

Latest is they're saying he got hit in the head by a stick on the bench. Someone got him in the right spot apparently. He should be just fine, but he'd be the first coach to get a concussion of he did. lol.

Well Sharks finally got on a plane out of Minny today after issues with that. I'm just glad that crappy trip is over.

As for the trade deadline moves. I talked to my brother who is a big Avs fan about Winnik. Says he's a good, big guy for bottom forward depth. Good on PK. Sharks need that.

Galiardi- Love this addition. He's a guy than can go up to top lines and play hard when needed and plays a scrappy game. Fans should remember hating him during the 1st round 2 seasons ago. He was a pain in the butt. So glad we have him as I think he's the type of character guy that can win us a game or at least contribute.

I have to admit, I'm worried about Niemi's play of late. Hope he's not the problem this year.

What we gave up today- McGinn and Scarbossa were the two big names. McGinn we all know is good, but was to far down in depth, but we get better depth while giving him up. Scariboosa (SP?) was undrafted, but is doing well in OHL this year. He's good depth for Avs. Hopefully we don't regret that, but hey, if we get a Stanley Cup this year, I won't care at all.

Sharks fans, I'd really appreciate some insight on Niemi.

I have been offered him in a deal (Niemi/Cole - Crawford/Grabovski) and I am hoping this is a great time to snatch him at a lower value. He was 20-9 just a month ago and I see (saw) him as a lock for 35+ wins and ample SO's for the next few years in SJ.

However, there seems to be some serious questions about him now, so I am not so sure anymore.

What do you see for him next year and beyond? Is he a safe bet to be the #1 for the foreseeable future?
