He honestly doesn't look terrible, he just misses all of his scoring chances. That side of him is pathetic, but that second line creates so many chances. He just whiffs on all of his shots that should go in. Very frustrating. He you put Cheechoo back in the exact spot Havlat is in those scenarios, we'd have won probably 6 more games. Then again, Cheech never would have been in that position with his slow feet.

He's getting the opportunities, but for some reason can't finish like the other guys can. I think he's trying to do too much or something and is over thinking his game. Skate and shoot dude.

So not terrible, but could be so much more, which makes it terrible. That help?

Just a random theory but maybe the Sharks are trying that whole peak at the end of the season idea and thus are slugging their way through the regular season. Considering their mediocre playoff showing no matter how good they look during the regular season perhaps this is the way to go. I imagine that this is almost advisable given the fact that they are incorporating a few new faces and are coming off a lengthy playoff run last season that no doubt has a few of their veterans run down.

I agree metal. I do hope this is the adversity leading towards a great finish. My brother has always said they are a team that would benefit from going in as a mid to bottom of the playoff order, but get hot and run it all the way through.

I would hope this is the case. Havlat has a history of pretty decent playoff performances, so I am hoping this actually happens and he shows up at the right time. I'd be more than happy with that.

Havlat's lack of success this season baffles me. He's always been a guy you could just stick on a line by himself and watch him create offense. Maybe they need to stick him on the third line. He's not buried enough on this Sharks squad.

They did that earlier and that was when he went pointless for like 8 games. On that second line he at least gets a lot of assist. Then again, who wouldn't playing on a line with Couture shooting and Clowe doing the dirty work and banging in garbage like Waste Management.

Any thoughts on Jamie McGinn? 7 points in the last 8 games. At one point he had decent upside but didn't really show anything in the past few years but is he finally breaking out and showing that he's atleast a capable 3rd line winger who can put up 30+ points each year?

First let me say WOW, best 2nd goal of the season. Havlat, Boyle, Handzus all made a great play on a terrible line change by EDM. Loved it. Sharks are showing early signs again of being in this game. We'll see if they last all 60 minutes.

Jamie McGinn is a ton of fun to watch. He's a wrecking crewman who can score. He has arguably been one of the better players on the team this season. He just doesn't get the ice time to prove it. Honestly, if there is a big injury on the top two lines, I wouldnt be surprised to see him move up in like a Clowe type role on the wing. Love his game, but I don't see him consistently putting up points, but he will go through spurts occasionally. In a full keeper, I'd go after him for my third line.

Ferreiro. He's apparently going to be on the top line with Pavelski and Thornton. interesting move. I'm assuming the second line is Couture, Clowe, and possibly Torrey Mitchell? Who knows, maybe McGinn gets a look there. Should be an interesting Game as I love watching Stamkos play. So this should be pretty fast paced and different as I don't remember how they Sharks faired against Boucher's system.

By the way, Havlat had surgery today and only one tendon is bad in that leg injury. Wilson said he'll be back before playoffs.

Huge explosion from the Sharks here. Killed a penalty, got a powerplay goal, and 4th line scores. 3-0 in first 7 minutes of the game. Wow, hope they keep this up. Garon chased out of the game already. Roloson is a Shark killer of old. See if he can put that up.

Wild first period. I don't want to get too hyped up, but man this is fun to watch. Sharks firing on all cylinders here, literally. Great reflection goal by Tampa. 6 goals in one period. Curious if this game really slows down now. I'm sure Boucher is lighting a fire under his studs. I have to admit, really thought Marty being back would have been more of a jolt to that team than what I'm seeing. Here's to hoping Stamkos makes this interesting. Love seeing him on the puck.

No real complaints about the Sharks... I haven't said that in a long time. Then again, they do this for a period and could really suck it the next one. I'll keep updating for you folks who may or may not read this.

Same question with marleau while he has been ok the last 2-3 games he isn't shooting like crazy. He usually gets 4+ sog and now I think he's gettig 2-3 what's up?
