I really do think he will take whatever the minimum is for him. He's such a team player and really wants to win it in San Jose.
I've been expecting Joe to take a pay cut for years now, and it still hasn't happened.
Basically the Sharks have 4.5M left for Joe and Marleau. About 3-3.5 for Joe and 1-1.5 for Marleau (Marleau is also still being paid buyout money, so he can take less).

Unfortunate for Patty but nothing is set in stone yet

Checked in today with Pat Brisson, who represents Patrick Marleau. Brisson said the fit is not there at this time between Marleau and the Sharks. The winger very much wants to play, and will pursue other NHL opportunities.
Anyone else duped by Yahoo saying Dell was starting today??? Frigggggggggggg. 4-0 SJ in the 3rd.
And I aimed to start Dell and Nilsson over Mrazek haha. Oh man. What an epic blunder.
At least Jones didn't get the SO.
If anyone was paying attention to Sasha Chmelevski's slow start in his rookie AHL season (1 A through the first 6 games, healthy scratched a few games) he had been playing through a foot injury. After taking a couple weeks off he has come back as the Sasha I hoped to see. 2G,1A through 3 games, he had a goal and 6 shots last night centreing the Barracuda's 4th line (I'm not sure if that lines ice time actually reflected a normal 4th line it's just where I saw him listed.) He keeps this up and we'll likely see him get a cup of coffee as a Shark in the near future.
Sheng Peng @Sheng_Peng
Chmelevski takes it to the net, scores his 2nd in 3 games, he also has 5 of Barracuda's 13 first period shots
https://twitter.com/i/status/1200605665917460481Chmelevski, on how he's playing now compared to October: "I feel like I'm a different player since my injury. I've been playing with confidence."
Sasha led Barracuda with 6 shots tonight, also scored a goal. Played through a foot injury in Oct, came back strong last week
Sharks set to sign this young KHL goalie, Alexei Melnichuk, per Lebrun on twitter

Who are the Sharks going to sign to be their "backup" goalie? My guess is they end up with Jake Allen with St Louis eating half his salary.
